Estados Unidos .- Una compañía del sur de California retiró aguacates del mercado debido a la posibilidad de que estén contaminados con listeria.
La empresa Henry Avocado, basada cerca de San Diego, anunció el sábado que el retiro abarca aguacates convencionales y orgánicos cultivados y empacados en California.
Añadió que fueron vendidos en California, Arizona, Florida, Wisconsin, Carolina del Norte y Nueva Hampshire.
Hasta ahora no se ha reportado nadie enfermo por esos aguacates.
La empresa dijo que tomó la medida debido a que realizó una inspección rutinaria de sus instalaciones y unas muestras dieron positivo de listeria.
Añadió que los aguacates desde México no son parte del retiro, y están perfectamente bien.
Listeria es una bacteria capaz de causar fiebre y diarrea, e incluso síntomas más agudos en mujeres embarazadas.
