Ginebra .- La cifra de muertos por el coronavirus 2019n-CoV llegó a 170, además de que hay siete mil 711 casos confirmados, según el reporte de las autoridades chinas.
Otras 170 fueron dadas de alta de la enfermedad que afecta a 15 países.
Por eso, la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) llamó a los gobiernos de todo el mundo, incluso a los que no han registrado casos del nuevo coronavirus, a estar alerta y a actuar para prevenir el contagio.
El mundo entero tiene que actuar”, indicó Michael Ryan, jefe del Programa de Emergencias de la OMS.
Hoy habrá una reunión del Comité de Urgencia para definir si el virus es emergencia internacional.
He decidido reunir de nuevo mañana el Comité de urgencia del reglamento sanitario internacional sobre el nuevo coronavirus para que me aconsejen sobre la cuestión de si la epidemia actual constituye una urgencia de salud pública de alcance internacional”, explicó Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus en Twitter.
