Sonora .- El equipo de la Ola Roja categoría 2002-03 femenil consiguió su pase a la Olimpiada Nacional de Basquetbol 5X5 después de conquistar el cetro a paso invicto dentro de la etapa regional la cual finalizó este sábado en la capital sonorense.
En el partido definitivo celebrado por la mañana en el Pabellón de Pelota de la Unidad Deportiva del Noroeste, Sonora venció 55-51 a Baja California para alzarse con el título de la Región Uno y con ello asegurar el único boleto disponible en esa categoría y rama hacia Chihuahua, Chihuahua, sede de la fase nacional de baloncesto, del 16 al 21 de mayo.
Una terna explosiva encabezó la ofensiva de nuestra entidad para acreditarse la victoria comandada por Ilse Miranda, quien anotó 17 puntos, siendo escoltada por Lisaydé Chávez (12) y Francia López (11); por el lado de las caídas Pamela Contreras encestó 17 y Mildred Terrazas marcó 14 (incluyendo 3 triples).
La selección sonorense ganó cada uno de sus tres desafíos ya que el viernes inició el certamen doblegando primeramente 57-38 a Baja California Sur y por la noche dio cuenta de la durísima escuadra de Sinaloa 69-65 en un espectacular partido.
