México .- Este 19 de febrero, es el Día Nacional del Ejército Mexicano, que este 2020 cumple 107 años de existir.
Las fuerzas armadas han participado en grandes episodios de la historia.
En la Segunda Guerra Mundial del lado de los aliados, los pilotos que conformaron el Escuadrón 201 atacaron posiciones japonesas en Filipinas y Formosa.
En 1965 fue creado el Plan DN-III-E de auxilio a la población civil en casos de desastre, que aplicó por primera vez, tras el desbordamiento del Río Panuco en el sur de Tamaulipas y norte de Veracruz.
Actualmente, el Ejército y la Fuerza Aérea Mexicana cuentan con poco más de 214 mil militares de diferentes rangos.
