Corea del Sur .-Autoridades de salud de Corea del Sur revelaron que un medicamento contra el VIH curó a un paciente con coronavirus.
Notimex, citando a la agencia Yonhap, detalló que la persona fue dada de alta después de recuperarse por completo del COVID-19.
El medicamento proporcionado al afectado fue Kaletra, que se usa para tratar el Virus de la Inmunodeficiencia Humana.
Médicos dijeron que tras ser suministrado su nivel viral descendió en forma significativa el día posterior al que se le brindó y sus síntomas de neumonía mejoraron.
El médico Yim Jae-kyun dijo que los resultados muestran que el medicamento debe ser administrado para los pacientes infectados por el nuevo coronavirus que tengan enfermedades subyacentes, o aquellos en riesgo de neumonía en la fase inicial del tratamiento.
